The Conseil Représentatif des Associations Noires files a case against the Caisse des dépots et consignations

On 10 May 2013, the Conseil Représentatif des Associations Noires files a case against the French financial institution, the Caisse des dépots et consignations, for having administered the debt paid by Haiti to France, and therefore for its complicity in a crime against humanity.In response, the French president, François Hollande, states during his 10 May address (commemorating 'slavery and the slave trade as crimes against humanity') that reparations are 'impossible'.
