The International Network of Scholars and Activists for Afrikan Reparations (INOSAAR) is a collaborative project being coordinated by the University of Edinburgh (UK) and the University of Boston (USA).
Funded through the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC), we aim to create an international network dedicated to reparations and other forms of transitional justice for the enslavement and genocide of peoples of African descent, including the invasion of the African continent by colonial powers that resulted in the oppression and deformation of African identities. Operating under the aegis of the UN International Decade for People of African Descent (2015–24), we are exploring reparations through the rich variety of research specialisms in the arts and humanities and social sciences in collaboration and consultation with grassroots activists and government-linked groups engaged in the struggle for reparative justice.
